The mission of AINM is to promote diversity and cultural understanding. To that end we offer food from around the world, cultural performances on a main stage, international retail & artisan shopping, and a new, interactive International Village sponsored by BB&T for learning more in-depth about 20+ countries around the world. The BB&T International Village will host up to 8 different cultural organizations per day, in separate booth spaces.
These booths will all offer educational material describing the country they represent, multiple free activities, and traditional clothing and/or props for a photo opportunity, at minimum. The goal is to provide cultural exchange, exploration, and education for attendees.
To participate, your organization must represent a specific culture, country, or countries in a region. Individuals will not be accepted.
Participating organizations will decorate and organize some fabulous cultural booths, and in return they will receive the following benefits:
- A free 20’x20’ tent space, with 2-4 tables, 2-4 chairs, basic lighting, and power for 1 day of the event.
- The possibility of winning our $1000 cash prize for best booth of the weekend, in the BB&T International Village!
- The ability to fundraise with the sale of approved, culturally appropriate products, as well as through ticket sales (20% of sales coming from your designated link will go to your organization)
- Announcements and acknowledgment of your organization’s participation on the AINM website, social media, event pages, and newsletter e-blasts
Participating cultures already include the following: Jamaica, South Korea, Japan, Peru, Lakota Sioux, Pakistan, Vietnam, Iran, France – and many more!
